Default Multiple Heirarchies in a Parent-Child Dimension - 04-11-2006 , 04:48 AM

Hi

We are running AS 2005.

I currently have a Parent-Child Dimension that relates to our Franchise
model with the following structure:

-Network
--Operator
---Stores

Most of our data is on the Store level, but we do have some non additive
data that relates to each level of the Heirarchy. eg Inventory.

We have some information that relates to the Operator level (if the operator
is a Public or private company etc) that we would like to use as a seperate
Hierarchy in the same dimension to seperate out the data in the reports so we
can crosstable the Operator Heirarchy by their company type.

Is this possible with a parent-child dimension or would I need to construct
a new Dimension to split this data out.

Regards
Michael

I have outlined a technique for achieving this in both AS2000 and AS2005
an article on my blog at
