Default Multiple connections to local cube - 02-17-2006 , 04:09 PM

Hi all,

I am currently having some issue with local cubes made with
Analysis Services 2005 around locking of the files.

If you connect to a local cube(say using even MDX Sample App from AS
2000 or any other client)
and then attempt to connect to the same local cube using another
instance of the client I receive
an error stating:

Unable to open connection.

File system error: The provided path 'filename' points to an existing
file which cannot be opened.

Is this due to a value/property within the cube?
or is there something I can do on my connection string to aviod this?
or is this simply a limitation of AS 2005?

Any input would be greatly appriciated.

Cheers,
Ron

Local cube is only intended to work in single-user mode.
If you need a single cube accessed from 2 applications you should create it
on the Analysis server
