Default msdart.dll error after upgrading from W2000 to W2003... - 01-03-2005 , 12:28 PM

Hi,

start and I receive a popup window.

The event log display this error:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Application Popup
Event Category: None
Event ID: 26
Date: 2005-01-03
Time: 13:27:17
User: N/A
Description:
Application popup: msmdsrv.exe - Entry Point Not Found : The procedure entry
point GetTextExtentPointI could not be located in the dynamic link library
MSDART.DLL.

I've reinstalled Analysis Services and reapply the SP3 but nothing changes.

I've reinstalled the MDAC2.8 without more changes.

any solution ???

I continue to have the error and I have completly uninstall all and
reinstall all!!! (all = analysis Services)
I've reinstall the mdac 2.8 again.

The Analysis services starts, but the error still here.

also I receive an errror when I try to access any olap server through the
analysis manager console.
Cannot connect to repository
"The method '~' of the object '~' has failed"

This error is locally only, remotly I'Ve no problems.

Hi Jerome,

I had a nightmare for a couple of days too but found the answer. The
windows upgrade to 2003 failed to install the up to date version of
ole32db.dll.

The following article tells you how to correct it
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=837128.

Also download the component checker at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...f0a8df6-4a21-4
b43-bf53-14332ef092c9&displaylang=en
which shows you any mismatches in the whole MDAC package.

Good luck

John

thanks for the detailled link.

I've also found the ol32db.dll file problem and solve it by copying it from
a working server.

but the article talk about the dllcache... so I'll change the file here
too...

thanks for the information.
