Default MSAS 2005: Password does not get saved with the Data Source - 04-11-2006 , 02:14 PM

Hi,

I created a new database using the SQ Server 2005 Business Intelligence
Development Studio.

The next step i did is to create a new Data Source. As an FYI, we are using
the Native OLEDB \ Microsoft OLEDB Provider for DB2. [Microsoft IA64 OLEDB
Provider for DB2].

I configure the Data Source pointing to my production DB2 database on an AIX
box.
I test the connection and it is successfull. Please note that i gave the
user id & password. Also i checked the save password box.

Now, when i go and try to process the dimension, it says Errors in the
high-level relational engine. A connection could not be made to the data
source with the DataSourceID of XXXXX, Name of 'XXXXX'.

Now when i go back and check the Data Source, the password is blank. It is
kind of disappeared.

Do any of you has similar issues in saving the password? Please advice.

Thanks,

Prasad.

Hi Prasad
What sort of setting do you have for the tab "Impersonation
Information" in the DS Designer?
I use "default" (connecting to an Oracle dw) and it works fine...
