Default MS-Data Analyzer and MS-SQL Server Reporting Services - 04-06-2004 , 11:21 AM

Hi,

Is there any newsgroup/web site/discussion forum for Microsoft Data
Analyzer. I need some help with Data Analyzer...

Also, if you have used both the subject products, how would you compare
these?

2nd Last question: What is the approximate per user license cost for MS-
SQL Server Reporting Services?

Last question: Is MS-SQL Server Reporting Services really just a service
which has to be started or does it have to be purchased and installed?

Thanks.

Data Analyzer is for someone who knows the data and is
looking for answers. This implies (with point and click)
they can compare different dimensions against each
other. Data Analyzer provides the ability to show
relative sizing of facts easily as well as set thresholds
for determining good, average and bad values.

Reporting services, which is a seperate install (because
is shipped recently) just like Analysis Server. The
licensing is similar to Analysis Server, if installed on
the same server with SQL Server, no additional license.
if installing additional server(s) then you need
additional licenses.

Reporting services allows you to build reports for the
masses. You don't typically have end users generate
their own reports. Users have the abililty to select or
enter data for parameters.
