Default Move from Test Server to Production Server - 07-07-2003 , 01:01 PM

Hello all,

How could I move the cubes that I created in my test server to my production
server without recreate them?

Would achieve the database from the test server and move to production work?

How could I make sure the cube is not longer using the test data but the
production?

Both test and production has the same database name and schema.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Awong

You might try this:
1) Archive your AS test database
2) copy archived DB files to your production machine and
then restore the db.
3) Once it is restored, edit your data source and verify
that it is pointing at the appropriate production data
server.
4) Populate/Process all cubes and dimensions.

That's what I would attempt, there might be better ways as
I am still new to this.
Best wishes!

You can also copy it from one server to another if connected to both via
AS on one machine. But the most important part is to go and edit the
Data Source once the move is complete (whether through this method or
via an archive). Make sure you do not change the name of that data
source though (eg as appears under Data Sources in the AS screen)!
