Default Mixing Thai and Latin collations in Analysis services - 09-01-2005 , 10:31 AM

Hi all

I'm currently in Malaysia setting up an analysis services server that will
be used by the Malaysian, Thai and Singapore market. The three run on the
same server but on separate instances of SQL-server in the SQL-database. In
analysis services they though run in the same instance (is anything else
possible??) but in different OLAP-databases. We get problems with the Thai
collation with its rather different characters compared to the normal Latin
one. All signs becoms questionmarks when looking in the Analysis services
interface, in the client interface and also in the files that are created on
the server (for example the dimtree files describing the dimensions). We have
installed the Thai signs and all on the server and if a send queries to the
database via Query analyzer etc everything looks good in the warehouse
database.

Does anyone know how to solve this or what the problem might be I would be
very grateful.

Best regards
Martin Kihl
