Can anyone point me to tips on minimizing cube build time and/or designing cubes for quick build times? Without going into too much detail I have a requirement to get cubes built as quickly as reasonably possible even if there are running analysis penalities. I'm building my cubes with DSO doing no pre-aggregation. Example: At the moment a cube with 300 rows in the fact table and one Distinct Count measure: * 200 Member Dimension * 200 Member 4 level dimension * 100 Member 3 level time dimension * 200 Member 4 level dimension This example is presently taking me about 3 hours to build. Any ideas asto where I should start researching? Much googling hasn't yielded me any good information yet on how to attack the cube build time problem. ![]() |
