Hi,
how can I connect an OLAP-Cube on a dedicated SQL Server 2005 (on a Windows
2003 Server) per pivot-view (in MS Excel 2003) from a separate WinXP-Client?

Most likely, I need "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Analysis Services 9.0" on
the client to connect. But I can install this component only on the
SQL-Server 2005! How can I get and use this Service on the clientside?

Coming in the next CTP release of 2005 is a separate install of the OLEDB
for OLAP provider. Until then you need to do a Tools installation of 2005 on
the client machine.
I recognize that this is a pain, and probably not what the answer you had
hoped for.
The next CTP is several weeks out.

The SQL Server 2005 CTP Setup still enforces the follow components before it
offers me the tool-installation:
- .NET Framework 2.0
- Microsoft SQL Native Client
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 CTP Setup Support Files

The same procedure like in the last CTP!
