Default Meta Data Scripter (MetaDataScripter) .NET ? - 04-19-2004 , 05:32 AM

Hello,

I'm trying to use the Meta Data Scripter from the SQL Server 2000 Resource
KIT.
How can i register this tool without vb6 on my machine ? (with VS.NET and
upgrading the vb6 projet in .net environment , it does not work -
compilation errors)

Thanks for the help.

You'll have to make the dll file from vb6.
Or contact me on my e-mail address and I can send you the dll file.

Peace,
Andrej

Or simply install another Analysis Services tool that does include the VB
runtime, such as the Parallel Processing Utility:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Also, folks frequently use the MetaDataScripter for 2 reasons: 1) to actual
move metadata between servers and 2) to study the DSO code that is
generated. If your reason is #1, then you might want to look at the new
DSO/XML tool that was recently posted at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

It was written natively in .NET and has no requirement for the VB6 runtime.

Hope that helps.
