Default Memory error and aggregations - 06-23-2005 , 09:45 AM

The process of some of the partition got memory error:
Analysis Server Error: Memory error [The server computer is running low on
memory. Close some applications, and then try again.] '' ; Time:6/22/2005
11:24:17 PM
when creating aggregations reach 42(less than 3% performance improvement).
The process can pass if I reduce the aggregations lower.

However, other partitions in the same cube can be processed with higher
aggregations. How to check how many memory the aggregations will use when
process? Any way to use less memory when creating aggregations?

See information in the AS Operations Guide and in the AS Performance Guide.
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/evaluat...ianalysis.mspx
Both talk about memory and how to reduce memory usage in AS.
Another possibility is that you are running low on page file space. We talk
about that in the AS Operations Guide.

I already have 4G memory. So page file won't help until I got 64 bit machine
and software?
