Hi,

I was trying to deploy a cube to my 2005 server and got a strange error.

When I got the script and ran it directly, the Results message included these lines:

<Exception xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-analysis:exception" />

<Error ErrorCode="3238920194" Description="MdxScript([cube name]) (2, 1) Parser: The syntax for 'The' is incorrect." Source="Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services" HelpFile="">

How do I go about debugging this? Where can I find the script that it was running? I have no calculated fields in the cube and nothing I can think of that has "The" in it!

It seems strange that deploying the cube will lead to the error message
"The syntax for 'The' is incorrect". Would you please reconfirm that you do
not have any typo in the cube name?

To find out the root cause of this issue we may need to analyze application
internal, this work has to be done by contacting Microsoft Customer Service
and Support. Therefore, we probably will not be able to resolve the issue
through the newsgroups. I recommend that you open a Support incident with
Microsoft Customer Service and Support so that a dedicated Support
Professional can assist with this case. If you need any help in this
regard, please let me know.

I have abandoned the version of the cube that was giving this error, and
other cubes are not experiencing the issue.
