Default MDX - SQL confusion? - 07-19-2006 , 07:19 AM

Hi,
I'm pretty much a jack-of-all-trades at work, but I'm looking at starting
to specialize a bit in SQL server. Right now I'm both SQL admin and data
warehouse designer. I'm okay at SQL, but very weak at MDX. In starting to
learn a bit more about MDX, but in doing so, I'm wondering if it will impact
any SQL skills.
In other words, do any of you get the two mixed up when writing queries?
For experts in both, do you still have a little brain cramp when you need to
switch between the two?
Thanks for any help.

I'm not an expert in both, but they are syntactically dissimilar, except for
the SELECT and FROM words that is...

I have heard from other employees at my company that going back to
relational design from dimensional design is difficult..
