Default MDX for multiselect - 08-01-2005 , 10:52 PM

I have goals and actuals measures.
The goals are set for a year and actuals are at a month grain.

The problem is that if I allow a multiselect of the time dimension (months)
in the OWC client's filter pane, then the actuals come up right, but the
goals get multiplied by the number of months selected.

I realise this is caused by the goals getting aggregated when a multiselect
is performed on the filter pane.

How can I avoid this?

Thans very much!

I Presume you have 2 cubes + 1 virtual cube(?)

Have you try to use the "ValidMeasure" function?
ValidMeasure(measures.goal)

have you any formula?

This is actually in Yukon - so no virtual cubes - but 2 different measure
groups at 2 grains, so almost the same as virtual cubes.

I don't have a formula. Just have a measure (sum) for the goals and the
actuals.

And when i multiselect on the time filter, the actuals get added, but so do
the goals! I want to avoid aggregating the goals measure

thank you!

Let me look into it. I think that in Yukon, in this scenario the measure
which is not related to months should not get multipled by number of
months...

thank you for checking

I am trying this with the time dimension in the "drop filter fields here" -
the time dimension holds Year and Month and goals are set at the year level
and granularity for the goals measure group is set at year.

Please let me know if you know how i can avoid this
