Default MDS 101 : Please help - basic question - 08-05-2005 , 12:24 PM

I am reading and learning, but something is still confusing me regarding the
dreaded distinct count issue that is all over this newsgroup and other
sources <g>:

Is the distinct count a member of a dimension or a measure? I know I *WANT*
to treat it as a measure, but the OLAP tool I have which allows for
calculated members and has a distinct count wizard only allows me to select
dimensions as a place to create it. I could try to manually create a
calculated measure, but am wondering if I am misunderstanding something
about how this stuff all works?

I am trying to understand this crossjoin stuff but am really quite confused.
I have been reading the MSDN site but it still clear as mud.

Thanks ,
Ron
