Default Manually forcing an OLAP database to refresh its data - 07-06-2005 , 06:50 PM

I have a SQL 2000 SP2 server (server A) with databases on it. I have a
seperate SQL 2000 SP4 server (server B) running MSAS. An olap database sits
on Server B, and pulls data from the SQL databases on Server A. How can I
force the olap database on Server B to refresh its data on a daily basis? I
tried choosing the database in Analysis Services manager on Server B and
chose "Process database" and then drilled down to the cube and chose "Process
all Cubes" but I am not sure if this is correct or not.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

You can simply choose "Process Database".
Don't forget you can use a job (in server A) to schedule processing.

Francesco,

Thank you for your reply to my question. Will choosing "Process Database"
also take care of processing the cubes, dimensions, etc? And I noticed that
when I highlighted a cube and chose "Process" it gave me the choice of
Incremental update, Refresh data or Full Process. If I chose just to "Process
Database" as you mentioned previously, what type of processing will take
place on the cube (Incremental, Refresh or Full)? Thank you.

"Process database" does everything.
