Hi, I am new to SSAS.

I've just read "Client Architecture SSAS" for AS2005:

(Notice that the last diagrams have SQL Server 2000, not 2005, is it an
updated document?)

I am interested in local cube and we have a scenario like this:
performance tracking information for sales managers with hierarchy of
national region (north, middle, south, east), national division (A, B,
C, D, etc..) levels, with which managers have to see data only within
their supervised division or divisions. Although an on-line cube is
necessary, but because they travell all the time, it would be better if
they have their local cubes on NB's and refresh them regularly when
on-line. However, the good features such as custom (semi-additive,
non-additive) rollup, user-defined functions are required for the
calculation.

I have looked at some posts about local cubes, it seems third party
tools have done a better job on local cube processing for AS2000, but
not much is mentioned about AS2005. Any comments are highly
appreciated.
