Hi, As per the SQL Server 2005 Books Online, Linked Cubes and Virtual Cubes would be removed from the next Version of MS SQL server. Is this really gonna happen ? The reason for asking this question being, I see a lot of new development still happening on Linked cubes. TIA. Kind Regards, Ashish Ruparel |

I believe BOL says that in Analysis Services 2005 Virtual Cubes and Linked Cubes are replaced by Linked Dimensions and Linked Measure Groups. Hi, Below is the excerpt from SQL BOL. My issue was with regards to the Note section. SQL Server 2005 Books Online Working with Linked Cubes Send Feedback See Also Collapse AllExpand All Language Filter: AllLanguage Filter: MultipleLanguage Filter: Visual BasicLanguage Filter: C#Language Filter: C++Language Filter: J#Language Filter: JScript Using Decision Support Objects (DSO) > Common Operations and Examples Advanced Examples Visual Basic(Declaration) C# C++ J# JScript Note: This feature will be removed in the next version of Microsoft SQL Server. Do not use this feature in new development work, and modify applications that currently use this feature as soon as possible. The BOL refers to the Linked Cubes as they are represented in DSO. DSO as a legacy object model. In AS2005 it's intent only to provide backward compatibility to legacy applications. You should not use DSO to develop new applications instead AMO is available to you.
