Default Limit on member length name or BUG? - 11-14-2005 , 10:19 AM

Hi all,

I am try returning a member name as EnglishName(JapaneseName) on
SQL2000/2000AS and Analysis services simply hangs.

If I return just the Japanese name, it works fine, same as English.
I am returning these columns from a view on a SQLserver 2000/Windows2003
environment.

I have the same logic working in Chinese language with no problems but on
Windows2000.

My question is that is this problem occurring because there is a maximum
length in AS for a member or have I stumbled on a bug with English and
Japanese language concatonated?

Analysis Services 2000 does have some limits that can be found at:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...agref_4vlf.asp

Out of curiosity, when you say that Analysis Services is hanging, are you
referring to the Analysis Manager, MDX App, and/or some other UI that is
trying to query the AS2k or are you saying that AS2k itself is hanging?
