Default Limit in Excel 2000 / "Too Many Row or Column Items..." - 03-02-2004 , 08:51 AM

Hello there,

I am trying to get an OLAP cube work for some users on Excel 2000. When they
try to pull in a specific dimension that would generate a 10 line result in
a table with just 3 columns, this error is displayed:

"Microsoft Excel cannot make this change because there are too many row or
column items. Drag at least one row or column field off the pivot table, or
to the page position. Alternatively right click a field , and then click
Hide or Hide Levels on the shortcut menu"

When I try the exact same in my Excel XP it works with no problems. There
are several other dimensions in the cube which works fine, and I really
cannot seem to find something specific for this dimension causing the error.

Anyone who knows what that is about?

Don't know what the issue is, but first thing I would
attempt is to install the latest PTSLite on the client
workstations that have Excel 2000 and see if that fixes
the problem.
