Default Joining two cubes - 10-14-2004 , 03:47 AM

Hi there

I currently have two cubes - Basically a summary and detail. The detail have
more information in terms of measures and dimensions, however also has the
same dimensions as the summary. Basically on drill down on the lowest Item
level I require this detail information to be displayed.

Not sure how I would approach this but I need to be able to have a link
between the two cubes. Reading the currently selected information on the
summary and then opening the detail.

Any advise / ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

That's exactly what Virtual cubes are for. Create a virtual cube, and run
the wizard, you'll get it.

What does the summary cube provide that the detail does not - after all,
summary info is derived from detail? Are you just trying to improve
performance at the summary level - in which case good aggregation design
may help?
