Default Invalid object name 'OlapObjects' - 08-09-2005 , 10:16 AM

Hello we have an instance of Analysis Services that nobody has apparently
been using for a while. I was tasked to bring up a new cube (for MS Project
Server) on that box. However, we have done something bad. When I try to
connect to the server in Analysis Manager I get the error "Invalid object
name 'OlapObjects'". Is there anything I can do other than reinstall the
software.

Thanks

Your repository is corrupted. If this was my system, I would reinstall since
I'd always wonder what pointers to old data remained behind in the system.
But if you'd like to attempt to repair, bring up Analysis Manager and
right-click on the server and see if will allow you to look at the
repository connection string. If not, then either it is a pre-SP3 version
(which I would reinstall and upgrade to SP4 because of all of the security
fixes); or there is some missing registry settings. The only way to look at
those is to go into the registry which is even more high risk and I'd say
your best bet would be a re-install.

I fiddled with the connect string a while and then abandoned.
Re-installed and all is well

Thanks
