Default Inexplicable termination of Analysis Manager - 11-25-2004 , 12:05 PM

Hi,

In a cube, we have created a cell action. The action statement as
entered in the cube designer is:
"cmd /k dir"

We process the cube and display the data in Analysis Manager. However,
when we right click on any cell in the displayed table, Analysis
Manager crashes. It just vanisihes from the screen.
The same this happens if we right click on a data cell in Crystal
Analysis 10.
If we delete the action from the cube, we can right-click on the cube
without any problem.

Are we hitting a limit or doing something else wrong, that causes this
problem?

We use MS Analysis Services 2000 with service pack 3.
I tried replacing the action with a cube action. This time, AM does
not crash when I right-click on a cell. But it crashes when I
right-click on the corner of the displayed table.
The cube has 47 shared dimensions and 18 measures. The levels total up
to 196. The cube uses all the 47 dimensions.
If I remove one dimension from the cube, and reprocess the cube, I am
able to right-click on a cell and it does'nt crash.
When I right-click a second time, it crashes as before.
I have tried the cube on a machine with a lot of RAM too and the
problem remained. So it is not that something runs out of memory.

Can someone suggest a shortcoming?

Thanks
