Assuming the dim has all level and following four members with mesuare values as follows: Dim Measure m1 100 m2 200 m3 300 m4 400 In normal case, when user select members m1 and m2 in the the pivot table of Excel , it will display total as 300 when button (include hidden items in Total) is not selected and 1000 when the button is selected. However, when there is dimension security configured which only allows user to see members m1 and m2, the display total is always 1000 in above case (when both m1 and m2 are selected) no matter the visual total button is selected or not. Is this a known defect or any fix? Thanks, |

When you define dimension security - please Enable Visual Totals in the role by which you restrict it. -- ==============================Â*================== == Mosha Pasumansky - http://www.mosha.com/msolap Analysis Services blog at http://www.sqljunkies.com/WebLÂ*og/mosha Development Lead in the Analysis Server team All you need is love (John Lennon) Disclaimer : This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. ==============================Â*================== == "yongli" <yongli (AT) discussions (DOT) microsoft.com> wrote in message news:60B2B553-C364-40DF-8C89-8AD1A6710C65 (AT) microsoft (DOT) com... Mosha, Thanks for your quick response. I know that visual total will overcome this problem. But the user want to see the hidden total too sometime. will enaling visual totals in the role prevent the hidden items from contributing to the higher level aggregation? Thanks, Yongli.
