Default how to use a named set - 03-04-2004 , 10:13 AM






Hello,
I learned that named sets are good when you need to define some additional, non-standart dimensions using functions like topcount etc. But in witch client can I use them? As I undrestand, I cannot use them into excel 2000 and AS manager?

The OWC pivot control lets you specify an MDX SELECT statement, which in turn can reference a named set.

Some clients expose named sets in UI though I can't provide a definitive list. Panorama and Proclarity are likely candidates.

Another Analysis Services client which can use Named Sets (eg: for Time
Series) is DSP Portal Edition 4.0:
