Default How to restore OLAP Cube from ODB file and data folder only (no CAB) - 12-12-2006 , 08:31 PM

Hi. I wasn't able to archive my OLAP cube. All I have is the copy of
the odb file and it's folder. How can i restore it from another
analysis server.

Thanks.

With 2000 you need to copy both the data folder and repository database at
the same time. It's very important these are in sync.

We can't use cab files for our backups since they can't be over 2GB so we
backup the repoostory and data folder.

Hi Jesse,

Thanks for replying.

What I have is only the .odb file and it's folder on the data folder.
I don't even have the cab file.

For example my OLAP is named SALES. So what I have is the SALES.odb
and the folder SALES with many files on it. I also have the Access file
SALES.mdb which is the source database of the OLAP.

Now, do I have enough info to restore the OLAP on a different Analysis
server?

Thanks again.
