Default How to Hide Empty Cells? - 05-04-2004 , 05:47 AM

Hi,

Though this question is posted becuase I am facing the problem in
Microsoft Data Analyzer but I am hoping that the problem is generic
enough and the solution can be applied to any front-end olap tool or
maybe even at the back-end i.e. Analysis Services??

Here's the summarized/simplified scenario... Total Sales is my measure
and my Geography dimension looks like this:

ALL (i.e. Country Level)
Quote:
--- Region (Level 1)

------ State (Level 2)

--------- City (Level 3)

When I am navigating through my Geography Dimension, for a selected Time
period (say the complete Year 2003), I come across any of the above
listed levels which did not have any sales in the selected time period.
For these, 'N/A' gets displayed and I have to manually hit the 'Hide
Empty' button. This does the trick but as soon as I zoom in/zoom-out or
go over the navigation from the start, I again have to manually hit the
'Hide Empty' button. This is a bit inconvenient and is there a way to
automatically hide the empty one's?

I hope my question is clear and I'll appreciate help.

Thanks.
