Default How to create a time dimension for accumulated aggregation? - 08-26-2003 , 02:18 PM

Hi,

how can a design a time dimension that aggregates my measures accumulated.
For example

Month:Sales
1:32
2:45
3:40

the aggregation for month 2 should include month 1 -> Result = 77
I do not need the accumulation over the several years, just within
each year from Jan to Dec.

I tried to use a Parend-Child dimension in AS an month 1 is a child
of month 2 and so forth...

But it seems that this is not enough. Do I really have to create a table
that lists all predecessors for each month?

TIA
Frank

A calculated member such as :

sum(ytd(),sales)

could do the job.
If you need to do this for all your measures, then you can
create a dimension (say Periodicity) with one regular
member and one calculated member to hold the YTD.
