Default How change Members values? - 10-18-2006 , 05:58 PM

I started working on Analysis Services only a week ago and I'm loosing time
on all the possible dumb issues.
I have a product dimension where one level is the boolean type of sku: true
for promo and false for straight.

Now I'd like to have the members showing as strings 'straight' and 'promo'
and not as 0 or 1.
I've tryed to work on "Member Name Column" but didn't found the correct
sintax. It seems that the only allowed operations are + and * by a numeric
value. No conversion from bit or logic operator seems to work.

How could I solve this basic issue? And what book or resource do you suggest
to learn at this level?

Thanks a lot

Jim

Is this 2005? If so, try setting up a Named Calculation field in the DSV.

If it's 2000, I usually like to do things like this at the database level
using a view over the dimensional table.
