Default How to change datasource name in SQL 2000 AS - 11-07-2006 , 08:51 AM

Hi
I had created a cube, but mistakenly I had assigned not appropriate
datasource name. All works fine, but the name of the datasource must be
different.

Is there any possibility to change it? There is no 'rename' option. I am
also not able to delete this datasource, because it is used by all the
dimensions.

Please help, or I will be forced to build the whole cube from the beginning.

Regards

Herman,

unfortunately you have to manually edit almost all of your files: the
data source name is present in dimension and cube files, so if you
rename it (editing XML file and renaming filename) or if you define a
new one with the same connection, you always have to rename the
datasource inside each other file you have in the project, editing them
directly in XML.

I don't know if someone wrote some script to do this task... Let me
know if you find one! :-)

Hi,
thank you for your help.
Since the cube was not very complicated I have created a new one with a
proper DS name.
