Default How to archive an Analysis Services database using the msmdarch command remotly - 10-06-2004 , 09:05 AM

I have 2 Analysis Service 2000 Server: Server1 and Server 2

I would like to to archive the Analysis Services database of Server2,
using the msmdarch command, doing that on Server1.

The path of the Data directory that contains the files for the database
I want to archive in Server2 is
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Data.

But in Server1, Analysis Services was installed in partion E:\, then the
path of the Data directory of Server1 is
E:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Data.

I tried to execute this command, but it failed:

"E:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Bin\msmdarch" /a Server2
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Data\"
"OLAP_HR" "\HR.cab"

When I wrote /a Server2 I´m saying that I want to archive a database in
Server2. When I wrote "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis
Services\Data\",
I´m trying to say that in Server2 the path of the Data directory is
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Data\". But this directory
doesn´t exists in Server1 (where I´m executing the command).

The question is, when I executing msmdarch to archive a OLAP database in
a remote server, the path of the Data directory cab be a "normal" path
(Drive:\path) or must be a URL?

Thanks,

Paulo
