Default How to? - 09-05-2006 , 03:10 PM

I have just been requested to compute total sales for mgrs.

Currently, I have a measure from the Fact table of total sales for all
employees. However, now I need to not just calculate the total sales but to
calculate the grand total for the Sales mgr which includes the sales of
his/her reps plus their own sales.

I know I need a calculated member but I do need a IIF and filter? Anyone has
any ideas or example in doing this?

Can't you simply set up an Employees parent-child dimension which
reflects the Sales Manager/Employee hierarchy? If you're using AS 2000,
you would need to set the "Members With Data" property to true, so that
the manager's own sales can be directly loaded from the fact table.
