Default Help with BI SQL 2K5 - 04-10-2006 , 02:43 PM

This should be an easy one...

Ok, I create a Report Model Project from the Business Intelligence
Projects Templates. I want to create a data source that points to an
Anylsis Services database. It seems my only option is to base the data
source on an another object and pick the option to create a data source
based on an Analysis Services project.

No problem, I have one of those that I used to deploy my AS database.
The problem is, it doesn't show up the drop down of available AS
projects.

How do I create an Report Model Project based on AS data?!?

I've been digging into BOL and haven't found anything that helps.

Thanks for any help you can offer,

Paul W

you can generate a model from an AS2005 database.
go on the reportserver web interface.
create a new connection to your AS server
then a button appears "Generate model"
click and you'll have your model generated!!!

but you can't modify it, because a cube has his own metadata.

Ok, now I have another curve to add....

The above works great, but now I want to filter what data the user
sees. How can I create this model that points to AS server and only
show the data from one business unit.

Sorry if this is easy. I have no problems if I point to the database
server, but how do I do this with the AS server?

Thanks,

Paul W
