Default Have you ever used 2 Data SSources in a cube? - 05-19-2005 , 10:30 AM

Hi,

I want to use a text file as a fact table and build dimensions out of the
DB2 relational tables for building a cube.

I created 2 data sources 1) for building dimensions from DB2 and 2) for Text
file as a fact table.

I am not sure if there is a way to involve 2 data sources while building the
cube via the wizard or cube editor?

Please help.

Thanks,

Sam.

Sorry. You can't do that with SQL2K.
You can define more than one data source; but only one can be used.
To load from two databases you need to create views in one which point to
the other -- this allows AS to use just one data source.

It is possible with SQL2K5. This is one of the areas where we did a lot of
improvements.
