Hi,
We're processing a cube and getting errors along the lines of:
The following system error occurred from a call to GetOverlappedResult for
Physical file: '\\?\G:\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL.2\OLAP\Data\DW_UK_Merged2.12.db\DW_SM .375.cub\Vw Container
Load.374.det\Vw Container Load.123.prt\136.Container Load - From
Place.Region.agg.rigid.map', Logical file: '' : Insufficient system resources
exist to complete the requested service. .
....which start around one-and-a-half hours into the processing.
The cube is not large from the data perspective (occupies around 2.5GB on
disk), but has around 30 measures, 30 calculated measures, 50 dimensions and
800 attributes/hierarchies in total.
We're stumped as to what's causing this - the server on which the cube is
building has the following specs:
- HP Quad Intel Xeon 3.6GHz, 8GB RAM, running Windows 2003 Enterprise, with
PAE/AWE enabled, and the /3GB switch included in boot.ini.
- The server is Active/Passive clustered.
- Disk IO is by means of a 30-disk array, total capacity is ridiculous.

- SQL Server 2005 SP1 installed, the box is a server for both SQL Server
2005 and Analysis Services 2005.
- Analysis Services has it's own dedicated 80GB drive, of which ~4GB is
currently used.
SQL Server is using AWE memory, whilst we've allowed Analysis Services to
use a reasonable amount of the 3GB it has available (Memory/HighMemoryLimit
is 80).
Has anyone else seen this problem, or are any Microsoft Gurus able to offer
a helping hand? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Will Alber.
