Default Frontend tools reading the UDM Views from SSAS2005 - 09-05-2006 , 11:10 AM

Hi,

I am thinking about transfering all my facttable / dimesion table views
from SQL Server database to the SSAS 2005 UDM Views to have all
business logic in 1 place (just copy/past the SQL code) and add here
additional calculated fields.

Are there webbased Frontend tools available to query the Views from the
SSAS2005 UDM Views instead of the views from the SQL Server database ?

accessing the DSV???

no, there is no tool for this.
The DSV is just a layer between the cubes and the source database.
you can't access it directly.

you can creates cubes (UDM) and/or reportbuilder models to add a layer of
user friendly metadata

so, the "simple"way to give access to your DSV views is reportbuilder, just
execute the wizard to generate a model, and you'll have a model usable by
the users to access the tables and views.
