Default Excel X to access OLAP cube? - 02-16-2004 , 02:27 PM

Does Excel X running on Mac support the use of the pivot
table service to access OLAP cubes at SQL server?

Hi,

from my understanding you need the Pivot Table Services installed on your PC
to get access to a cube. I don't know any other version of PTS than the
"normal" Windows versions, so there is no way to get in contact to a cube
with a non-Windows machine.

This might change when XML/A get more common (with Yukon), but I don't know
much about that, i.e. if this is only a protocoll (what would make sense) or
it's a replacement for PTS, too (which I wouldn't believe)...

HTH
