Excel Writeback Timeout error

Hi,

When I use the Excel 2002 writeback example (which uses
ADO) provided on the MSDN site, I get a timeout error
with some cube updates.

Any Ideas?

You are not a newbie but are still learning.

Does this mean you are abandoning your other OLAP platform as there is no
future for it!

Why not use one of the decent Excel add-ins available?
They have done all the hard work connecting the benefits of spreadsheets to cubes.
The small price you pay is more than worth it.
Look at XLCubed & MIS Plain inparticular.
