Default Excel 2003/2007 grouping not working - 11-20-2006 , 04:48 AM

Hi,

In Excel 2003/2007, if we try to group 2 or more members of a dimension and
we have selected calculated measures, only the simply calculated measures are
visible. The more complex calculated measured are not longer visible.

A simple calculated measures include basic formulas. E.g.,
"[Measures].[Discount Amount] / [Measures].[Reseller Sales Amount]".

Complex calculated measures include more complex formulas. E.g., using iff
function etc..

If the cube only has complex calculated measures we get the following error
message "Formula error – syntax error – token is not valid: “CREATE SESSION
CUBE [<cube name>_XL_GROUPING0] FROM [<cube name]( ^DIMENSION^ [<cube
name].[dimension name], DIMENSION…".

Is this a bug or limitation?

Thanks,
Tiago.

I'm not sure this is help to you.
To delve into the MDX query, open your *.oqy file and add "log file=a.txt"
to the connection string.

Open a.txt with Internet Explorer, and you can see the MDX logs.
