I have a setup like this

Opportunity->OpportunityProduct

The OpportunityProduct table is my fact table.On the Opportunity table there
is a date field which I want to use as a dimension for my fact table. I have
them created a new time dimension, but when I try to map them up in
dimension usage i get an error.

The relationship is referenced and the Opportunity dimension is my
intermediate dimension.

When I process the cube I get the following error:

Internal error: An unexpected error occurred (file 'pcprocbinding.cpp', line
6316, function 'PCDBProcBinding::MapTimeBinding').

What is wrong?

If I understand you correctly, you are using a Server Time dimension as a
referenced dimension. Unfortunately, you cannot use the Time dimension as a
"materialized" referenced dimension -- if you make it unmaterialized then it
should start working.

Alternatively, you could materialize the time dimension into relational
tables in your datasource and then build a table-based time dimension --
that should work both as a materialized and unmaterialized reference
dimension.

I believe validation has been added to AMO to raise this as an error in SP2.
