I received the following message when installing AS SP3a:

An error ocurred during the move data process - 132

I've seen a reply concerning the registry value, however that value is
present and looks correct on our system. Also there is plenty of available
disk space.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try searching microsoft.com's KB database? I just did for "move data
process" and the first hit is:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;834112
which talks about the installation not being able to update certain files
because of programs and services running. You should stop all unnecessary
services prior to upgrading.
