Default Error connecting using Analysis Manager - 08-07-2003 , 03:11 AM

I have installed Analysis Manager on a windows 2000
professional PC. When I try to connect to the Analysis
Server I get error "Unable to connect to the registery on
the server (SERVERNAME), or you are not member of the OLAP
Administrators group on the server" . I have added my
account to the OLAP admin group on the server and
restarted the server and stll get same error.

Can some one help!!

thanks
Anoop

Anoop,
You need permission to the servers registry to manage the server through the
Olap manager. This OLAP Admin group is given this permission, but in some
cases (like on a domain controller) this is overrun by tight security
policies. You can probably solve it easily by adding you account to the
servers/domains admin groups, or spend some more time finding out what
policy prevents your access and disable it for your account.
