Is your Windows XP box connecting to another box which contains the OLAP
cubes? One possibility is that when you are using Windows XP, the firewall
within it may be causing communication issues whether it is to connect to
another box or even to itself. The ports to open are:
For Yukon (SQL Server 2005), you will need to open as well:
Analysis Services 2005: 2383 (default port), 2382 (redirector port)

The Server with the OLAP-Cube is a windows 2003 Server. I disabled the
firewall for my tests on the XP-client. Now i enabled the firewall and tried
your settings, but the error message is the same
