Hi Aubrey, Welcome to use MSDN Managed Newsgroup! From your descriptions, I understood even you have applied the latest service pack of SQL Server 2000, it will still report the error message Unable to connect to the registry on the server (SERVERNAME), or you are not a member of the OLAP Administrators group this server. If I have misunderstood your concern, please feel free to point it out. Based on my knowledge, please check the version of MSmdsgn80.dll (Analysis Manager add-in) and saw it's version. If should be 8.00.760, if it turned out to be 8.00.194 please replace this file with version 760 one. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to let me know. We are always here to be of assistance! Sincerely yours, Michael Cheng Microsoft Online Partner Support When responding to posts, please "Reply to Group" via your newsreader so that others may learn and benefit from your issue. ================================================== === This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. |

On Windows XP Pro, SS2K-Dev-SP4, AS-SP4 erratic behavior connecting. "Unable to connect to the registry on the server (SERVERNAME), or you are not a member of the OLAP Administrators group this server." Sometimes get as far as Browse Cube Data - but it Cannot Show Data. Rebooted. Re-applied SP4. Checked KB307365 & KB324040, and all Patches up to date. No more MSDN or Google ideas ... What now? I would like to finish the Tutorials and get on with some Client Analyses. -- Aubrey |
