Hi, My application uses 32 bit SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services in a clustered environment. There's a DTS that processes the dimensions and then the cube after every 30 mins. One of these dimensions has almost 1,580,000 members. Grouping level is also there for this dimension. Now the problem is that this DTS fails INCONSISTENTLY without giving any descriptive error in the event log. System RAM = 3.75 GB The Analysis Server memory settings are as follows: Minimum allocated memory = 1023 MB Memory conservation threshold = 2047 MB since i have not enabled the /3GB Switch in Boot.ini. While this DTS was running i could find out that Mem Usage was about 945,000 KB and VM Size was about 956,000 KB for analysis sever process (msmdsrv). Is it that the memory settings for Analysis Server need to be incremented by enabling the /3gb switch in boot.ini ??? and If i enable this switch, what will be its repercussions? regards yashrah. |
