Default drilltrough in excel2003 - 05-03-2005 , 08:11 AM

Stuppid question:

I've setup drill trough at the cube side. When I try it in Analysis manager
I get a timeout error.

I created a role for my user and enabled drilltrough.
But when I try to do drilltrough in excel I get the standard message as if
it was not enabled.

Am I doing something wrong. What am I missing?

Greetz,
Nico

Hi Verbani,

The timeout usually is caused by the ADO Command Timeout default of 30
seconds. If the Drillthough doesn't comeback in that amount of time then you
get the error message. Unfortunalty there isn't a setting for this timeout
in the Analysis Manager.

I'm not sure why you get the error in Excel though, if you log in as OLAP
Administrator do you still get the error?

When I processed the cube with less data. So now I don't get any errors in AS.
But my situation for Excel is still the same. I've checked and my user is
OLAP admin.

Nico

Hi,

As I understood from other foruns. Drillthrought is not supported directly
in Excel 2003 (or others).

In order to solve it you need to use VBA.

Please check this link
