Default Disappearing data, requiring restart - 09-14-2004 , 02:12 AM

Hi,

We have a cube which apears to "lose" data. After a full process everything
appears fine, but a few hours later one of the measures contains only 0's.
Restarting the Olap service appears to bring the data back.
As far as I can tell there is nothing unusual about this cube - it is a
standard cube with 8 dimensions and 3 measures, and worked perfectly until a
few weeks ago. We are running SQL2000 Enterprise Edition with SP3a. Any
ideas what the problem could be, or where to begin tracking it down?

TIA

Peter

This is very strange. I have never heard of such a problem. Considering that
it involves data corruption this is very serious. Can you reproduce the
problem on a smaller subset of the data; is it happening on all cubes?
If it is readily reproduceable and across all of your cubes, you should
consider logging a support call with PSS (or maybe one of the on-line PSS
folks will read this posting and reply directly).
