Default Dimension Security - newbie seeks help! - 07-05-2005 , 05:41 PM

Hello...
I have a time dimension made up of two levels: year and period. The
data contains records for Period 0, which I need for calculations but
wish to exclude from displaying.

Using security for this, I added a cube role ('Everyone' on the
Membership) and restricted the dimension using a filter statement in
the Denied Members area. Works fine when I select 'Test Role' in
the Cube Role Manager window, but when I go back into browsing my cube,
Period 0 is still there. I reprocessed both the dimension and the
cube.

Hope someone can offer some help.
Thanks,
Mara

Hi Mara,

What client tool are you using to browse the cube - an OLAP Adminstrator
will have access to all cube data, unless a security role is specified
in the connection string.
