Having a strange problem. One of my dimensions (single level) has large
number of members (currently 674,990). So we have a grouping level above
that. It was working fine, but just recently what has started happening is
that it gets incrementally processed successfully once, but on the other
attempt it fails! and the cycle repeats. This is the error I get when it
fails through AS Manager
Processing Dimension 'CubeSalesView_AccountNo' failed. No changes have been
made to the database.

And just after that AS also restarts, Event log has an entry that a fatal
error has occured and AS is retarting.

Same happens when I process the dimension through DTS.

Any clues??

Hi,

We have a similar problem with a large dimension and I
know of other people that also have the same problem.
There is a hot fix available from Microsoft for Memory
leaks caused by large Parent Child dimensions, but if you
have a linked OLAP server in SQL Server, this will fail to
work with the hot fix.

If you dimension is not a large parent child, then you are
probably in the same boat as the rest of use and you'll
have to rebuild every couple of days - a pain I know. If
there is anyone who has got around this I'd love to know!
