Default Deploy across (non-trusted) domains - possible? - 11-06-2006 , 09:41 AM

Is it possible to deploy a SQL 2005 Analysis Services project across
domains, when there is not a trust between the two domains?

We have a SQL 2005 AS project on our development server (separate domain
from production) and when we try to create a deployment project and specify
the server name of the production server, we get:

"Error 1 The project could not be deployed to the 'PROD_SERVERNAME' server
because of the following connectivity problems : A connection cannot be
made. Ensure that the server is running. To verify or update the name of
the target server, right-click on the project in Solution Explorer, select
Project Properties, click on the Deployment tab, and then enter the name of
the server."

I can ping the production system from the development system, so it does not
seem to be a network issue.

verify that your login / password is the same on the target domain.

or try to first connect to a shared folder on the destination server, this
action will authenticate the user against this server.
